I love the one step at a time approach when it comes to businesses wanting to market themselves online.
My view is if you take one step at a time, you will understand the nuances and necessary actions that makes each different social media platform tick.
You don’t want to be wasting valuable time struggling to get to grips with, say Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn all at the same time. Why?
Because each platform aims at a specific type of audience. This means your marketing messages should be written specifically for each platform. So perfecting your message on one is much easier.
Okay, so then comes the question of which to go with first.
My answer is usually, if you have a B2B service or product, start with LinkedIn. If you have a B2C type business start with Facebook.
However, I love Facebook Marketing because it is the cheapest way to reach the right people.
So, if you want to reach your target audience quickly by using Facebook Ads, you really need a Facebook page.
I started off with saying businesses should take one step at a time. This doesn’t mean you have to wait months until you move onto the next marketing platform. it may only be a few weeks, you just don’t want to get yourself in a positon of feeling nothing works so you scrap it all!
Bad move, as you really do need your business to be online and reaching eyeballs. The right sets of eyes too.
There’s a lot of strategy involved, a bit of luck to get it right first time or fairly quickly and a commitment needed to continue and persevere until you succeed.
If you’re attempting to do everything at once, you are setting yourself up for a fall. Unfortunately!
As the image above suggests, team work is the best policy, more ideas, pooled skills and team successes – Enjoy!
